It has a very loud two tone whistle, a whistle can be heard over a much larger distance compared to shouting. A handy strap clip is built into the whistle which is supplied with a short lanyard cord attached for securing to clothing (please note a cord should not be worn around the neck).

It is easier to blow a whistle when you are cold wet and in a strugle.
